The barleywine mantle is a tough one to climb, so we put a lot of love into forging these beers. After rounds of sensory concluded the right course for this ale, the final blend was made from 50% 1-year-aged Willets Bourbon Barrel Barleywine, 40% 1-year-aged Willets Bourbon Barrel Barleywine aged an additional 1 year in steel, and 10% 1-year Cuvee of Barrel-Aged Barleywine and Imperial Stout. The result is perhaps our most balanced array of fruit and sugar complexities, all with the appropriate spiritous presence.
